What to Expect

Initial phone consultations are provided are free and serve as an opportunity to discuss your goals, challenges, and questions about hypnotherapy. During this call, I will learn more about how the issue is impacting you and share information with you on how this process works to support your healing and transformation.

During the first in-take meeting (which usually lasts around 2 hours), we will:

  • Uncover the emotions, beliefs, patterns and subconscious drivers contributing to your current situation
  • Create a blueprint for change using the information uncovered collaboratively to reframe limiting beliefs and construct a roadmap for change using your goals as a guide
  • Prepare for hypnosis by relaying how it works and what to expect, answering any questions you might have

Since the subconscious mind is the seat of habits, emotions, and learned behaviors, this foundation allows us to reeducate it effectively during hypnosis. This creates lasting, positive change by addressing the root cause rather than just the symptoms.

Developing a Personal Plan

Following the first session, I’ll develop a personalized plan (or custom package) specific to your situation and goals. Hypnotherapy is a highly efficient modality, with most clients experiencing significant results in 6-12 sessions. For comparison, traditional talk therapy or CBT often requires 33-180 sessions (respectively) to achieve similar outcomes (Bairros).

This custom plan will outline the number of sessions, focus areas, and strategies we’ll use to address your concerns. Each session will build on the progress made in previous meetings, creating a cumulative effect that strengthens your transformation with each successive meeting.

Each session after the first is typically between 1-1.5 hours and builds on the work from previous sessions by reviewing progress, continuing the work, and providing tools for reinforcement between sessions. Sessions are most effective when scheduled weekly, allowing for steady progress and continuity. Whether you decide to meet in my office or from the comfort of your own home via Zoom, the process is equally effective.

After the first session, you’ll have the option to purchase a discounted package (equivalent to 1-2 free sessions) or pay per session at the standard hourly rate. Most clients choose the package option to maximize the benefits of this cumulative, progressive process.

Addressing Common Myths

Despite what you might have been led to believe through popular culture, hypnosis is safe and effective. However, it’s natural to have questions or concerns. Here are a few clarifications:

  • Hypnosis is collaborative: As your hypnotherapist, I am your guide and facilitator, but you hold the power to create change. Essentially, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, and I am just your facilitator or guide.
  • You cannot be ‘stuck’ in hypnosis: Hypnosis is a natural state, and you can return to full wakefulness at any time. You will remain alert and aware during your session feeling only very relaxed similar to as we typically experience on waking and entering sleep at least twice a day.
  • You remain fully aware and in control: Hypnosis is not mind control—it’s a state of focused attention where you actively participate in the process.
